15 Conception Tips to Help You Get Pregnant Faster
The time to start working toward a healthy pregnancy is before you conceive. If you are trying to get pregnant quick, our pregnancy tips are good start to get your body ready for the conception process.
Stop taking your birth control
If you are currently taking birth control, you will need to stop. If you are using barrier methods, such as condoms, diaphragms, a cervical cap or sponge, you should simply remove and/or stop using them. With hormonal contraception, such as the pill, it’s best to consult your GP. Generally, you should allow 2–3 months for your body to adjust to regular periods before trying to conceive.
If you are using an IUD (intrauterine contraceptive device), this should be removed one cycle prior to trying while a hormonal implant or injection can last 3–6 months. Cut back on partying
Drinking in excess and smoking when you are trying to conceive may have a negative effect on your chances of getting pregnant. We don’t need to tell you they are both major don’ts. Moderation is also the key to alcohol consumption when trying to get pregnant, although we recommend you not consume any alcohol. If you indulge in either, start scaling back now. This is a time to get healthy and to allow your body to prepare for the process of getting pregnant.
Get your man prepared
Keep his testicles cool… A man's testicles should be one or two degrees cooler than the rest of his body. Tight underwear, hot showers and hot baths can all raise the temperature of the testicles and slow sperm production. Drink less coffee
If your local Barista knows your order as soon as you step up to the counter, then it’s time to cut back your caffeine intake now. Several studies have proven that caffeine increases the duration it takes a woman to get pregnant. One study showed that women who consumed more than a cup of coffee a day were 50% less likely to become pregnant per cycle. Another study in patients undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) showed that women who drank even small amounts of caffeine (50 mg) were also likely to have decreased chances of getting pregnant.
We’re all aware of the damage smoking does to your body so if you smoke and you are planning to become pregnant you are strongly advised to stop smoking. Stopping smoking will benefit both of you and your baby immediately. Remember it is important for your partner to quit as well.
Food for thought
Believe it or not, peas have anti-fertility effects for both men and women. Also watch out for soy products. They contain a natural source of oestrogen that can be beneficial, but may cause hormonal imbalances, leading to interference with ovulation and egg production. Make sure your man also eats properly. Poor appetite coupled with stress can often have adverse effects on sexual urges.
A healthy body needs a healthy mind.

Talk to your mother, sisters, aunts, ...
Ask them lots of questions: Did it take them a long time to conceive? Were there any complications? Some health conditions tend to run in families, and it’s a good idea to know your history and share any relevant information with your doctor. But don't worry too much. Just because it took your sister a year to get pregnant doesn’t mean you’ll necessarily have difficulty getting pregnant too. Have more sex
